Butch Bamberg

Butch Bamberg, age 71, of Centreville, Alabama passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023. Butch supported his family as an electrician and maintenance supervisor in the steel mills. He was a member of River of Life and was an inspiration with his strength of character and faith in God. He enjoyed golfing and Auburn football, but most of all, being a Paw-Paw. He was known for his boldness in life and was one of kind! He was loved by all and shared great memories, laughter and joy throughout his life. It was an honor to know him and a comfort to know he is now in the loving arms of God.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilyn "Lucy" Bamberg; daughters, Bridgett Hobson (Kevin) of Centreville, AL and Tonya Coffman of Bay Minette, AL; grandchildren, Noah Hobson (Emily), Hayden Hobson and Kayleigh Coffman; sister, Jane Hogg; brothers, Berle Bamberg, Earl Bamberg (Patsy), Grady Bamberg (Carol) and Glenn Bamberg; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his spoiled little brown boy, Teddy.

A visitation for Butch will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at River of Life, 9225 Hwy 82, Centreville, Alabama, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Pastor Mike Woods will officiate.

Butch will be laid to rest in Pineland Memorial Cemetery, 3472 Montgomery Highway, Centreville, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, Butch would have preferred donations be made to Adult & Teen Challenge of Alabama at www.alatc.org.

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again.
