On August. 12th 2021 Our Lord and Savior blessed our Father and took him home . Mr. Charles “Pop” Hayes born September 30th, 1929 in New Jersey and came to Alabama in 1992 when he retired. He lived 91 years and 10 months and was a hard worker all his life. He raised his 4 children on his own. He was a wonderful Father and Grandfather. He enjoyed life, always having some type of project going and raising his chickens and working in the yard. He believed in our Lord and Savior, talking to him and praying to him until his last day on this earth.
He was proceeded in Death by his parents Charles & Anna Hayes, his brother Howard Hayes, a sister Margaret Davenport, daughter-in-law Rosemary Hayes, and a grandson Donnie Price.
He is survived by one Sister Dawn (John) Groblewsky of West Virginia, Sister in Law Nancy May of WV;
his children, Melody ( Charlie) Boyd of Southampton, PA., Walter Hayes of Mizpah, NJ,
Amber ( Donnie) Pennington of Woodstock, AL. & Dale Hayes of Mizpah , NJ.
His Grandchildren Keith & Dana Boyd of PA, Shawn Boyd of NM., Ray & Stacy Pennington of Woodstock, AL, Chris & Maria Boyd of FL., Curtis & Natasha Pennington of West Blocton AL., Katie, Joe, Angie, Donnie Krystal, Hunter, Misty and Savannah Hayes of NJ and 15 Great Grandchildren and several special nieces.
Visitation will be Monday, August 16, 2021 at Rockco Funeral Home-Centreville from 9AM - 10AM. Graveside service will be at Shultz Creek Baptist Church Cemetery starting at 11AM with Rev. Brad Lowrey presiding.
