Del was a wonderful man! He was kind hearted, witty, hard-working, and would give you the shirt off his back. Not a day goes by that we don't tell a story about Del that makes us laugh out loud, and is immediately followed by tears of grief, but we are confident that he has found peace with our Lord and Savior,  and he is already sending us signs to supports our belief! Rest in peace, brother, we will always love you, and we know you will always be with us! ❤️

Didn't know you long at work, but you were a really nice guy. You called me Katie even though my name was Maggie, but we joked about that. I hate you're not here just so I could hear you call me Katie one more time. Rest in peace Mr. Del.

Del was a great friend and a co worker at Walmart in Brent, Al.  We shared a lot of talks and he was an awesome person to work with!! He is greatly missed!! He was one of the best😢❤️

I worked with Del when he lived in Pa with his dad, we had some great times fishing and hunting, he was one of the smartest bodyman I ever worked with. My prayers to his friends and family.

Papa Del, 

I remember meeting you at Mercedes and I was scared to even ask you a question. I would always ask someone else and they would direct me straight to you. I would then just forget my question and move on to my next task. Finally I worked up the nerve to talk to you and we became close from that day. You would give me a hard time, but it was always out of love. You became one of the people who would look out for me and make sure I had all the tools to succeed. You rarely called me Whitney, but rather called me by my middle name. I became your "Jenise" and you became my "Papa Del." I hate we lost touch, but I thought of you often and spoke of you just as much. I would ask Shelby how you were and I kept a check from a distance. You were a great man and even a greater friend. I will miss you. Rest well my dear friend.

Del and I met on a blind date in 1993. From that very first day, we were rarely apart for the next 17 years. We were so young then, with no real understanding of what marriage truly required, but we grew up together along the way. There were times when Del was a social butterfly, always surrounded by people, and other times when we would retreat from the world and simply be with each other. No matter the season, we shared a life filled with memories, lessons, and love.

If he knew how often I thought of him over the years we were apart, he would laugh at me and say something snide, and smile.  I will always love him and remember the time we had together.
