

Donnie or "Bump" as a lot of people knew him, was a hardworking, soft spoken, kindhearted man that loved his family and friends, especially the love of his life, his loving wife of 50 plus years.
He devoted over 30 years of his life working in the coal mines for Jim Walter Resources and later in life working multiple years at Chem Lime Montevallo and Brose in Vance, Al.
Bump is preceded in death by his parents, Billy R. and Alma Pennington; father-in-law, Charles "Pop" Hayes; and bonus son, Donnie Price.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Amber Pennington; sons, Ray Pennington (Stacy) and Curt Pennington (Tash); bonus son, Patrick Pierson (Brandi); grandchildren, Landon "Boudreaux" Pennington (Kinnley), Brody "Brody Man" Pennington, and Raylee "Sissy Lou" Pennington; bonus grandchildren, Kelsey Hendrix (Khenzlee), Brody Carroll (Lauren), and Kaleigh Porter (Kameron); great-grandchildren, Ro-Ro, Daisy, and the one that was the light of his world throughout his final months, "His" Laynie Lou; special aunt and uncle, Roy and Trudy Lowery; along with many cousins and close friends.
Donnie's family and friends hated to lose such a great man but have peace and comfort knowing that he was a man of Faith and that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Saviour.
There will be a graveside service on Monday July 20, 2026 at Shultz Creek Cemetery with Bro. Brad Lowery officiating.
