Edward Lee Rains

Edward honorably served his country in the United States Army for 27 years. He then retired from Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 1985 and moved to Centreville, Alabama in 1986, where he has lived ever since. Edward was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Centreville, Al.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Rains and Edna Corbett; grandparents; brothers, Charles Rains and Billy Joe Rains; step-son, Tim Gardner; step-grandson, Dylan Gardner.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Syble Rains; brother, Danny Rains (Kathy); sister, Brenda Pisel; sons, Eddie Rains, Robert Rains (Kim); granddaughter, Cora Jones (Justin); step-daughter, Becky Richardson (Tony); step-granddaughter, Kandice Turner (Jay); step-grandsons, Keith Marlar (Jesslyn); Kevin Marlar, and Derek Gardner; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Doug Rains; and a host of nieces and nephews.

An inurnment service with military honors will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10:15am with Bro. Mike Allen officiating.
