

Ernie was a devoted man of God, the solid rock upon which his family stood. He was steady, faithful and full of grace.
Born on October 28,1948 –to H.D. Wilson and Onzell Wilson- He lived his life as a shining example of strength rooted in faith.
He served the Lord with humility and purpose, leading his home with prayer, wisdom and unwavering love.
His life reflected the truth of Matthew Chapter 6 -
‘Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth but lay up for yourself treasures in Heaven- For where your treasure is, there your heart is also’
A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend
He was the kind of man everyone looked up to - dependable, gentle in spirit, and steadfast in his convictions. He found joy in helping others through preaching and teaching God’s word and reminding those around him of God’s faithfulness' through every season of life.
Ernie was devoted to his community and served as one of the most respected police officers for the Brent Police department until he retired in 2014. He served with pride and dignity.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, anytime he got the chance.
He is survived by his beloved wife for 59 years, Elaine Wilson, who he absolutely adored and cherished. His children – who loved him so dearly -Ernie Wayne Wilson (Teresa Wilson) Angela McMillan (William McMillan) and April Hudson. 7 grandchildren – Amanda McMillan, Tamela Gray, Brad McMillan, Justin Wilson, Cody Wilson, Ashley Gaither, Sumer Holdsambeck and 23 great Grandchildren, they all will carry his legacy forward.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, his example of faith and love will continue to guide those he leaves behind.
Services to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday November 9, 2025, at Consuming Fire Church in Centreville, Al. Where we will be honoring a man, whose greatest desire was to serve the Lord and love his family. Visitation for family and friends will be 12-1pm with the service starting at 1:00pm- Graveside service at Scottsville Cemetery will follow.
