Fred Douglas Nelson, Jr., age 79, of West Blocton entered into rest at his residence on March 19, 2017. He is survived by his brothers, Bobby Earl Nelson and Larry Nelson of West Blocton; sisters, Barbara Ann Lawton of Oregon House, Peggy Carroll of Woodstock and Mary Smith of West Blocton; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Minnie Nelson; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Pallbearers were Wayne Nelson, Scott Nelson, Terry Whatley, Junior Boothe, Austin Estes and Jay Smith. Honorary pallbearers were his many friends.
