Helen Nix Anderson went home and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, November 24, 2020. She will be best remembered for the love and kindness she showed family and friends and as a devoted mother, daughter and sister.
She was born on July 9, 1953 in Selma, Alabama and grew up in Centreville, Alabama. Her beloved parents were Jimmie and Tomy Nix. They owned a department store in Centreville and both worked for the Bibb County Board of Education.
Helen graduated from Bibb County High School in 1971 and then from Auburn University in 1975. She also received a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Montevallo.
Teaching school was Helen's life calling and the number of lives she touched and influenced is immeasurable. She loved her job and all her children were special. Her career blessed her with many sweet friendships and memories.
Helen enjoyed being a mother to her only daughter Rachel and the two of them shared a special bond of love over the years. Rachel followed in her mother's footsteps and became a teacher as well.
