Helen Marie Avery, 72, of Brent, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the St. Paul Hermitage in Beech Grove. She was born May 13, 1945, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a daughter of the late Roscoe L. and Clara Mae (Mitchell) Avery. Helen was a person with special needs “A Forever Child” who loved her family, her church, Brent Bible Methodist Church in Alabama and Independent Nazarene Church while she resided in Beech Grove. Helen was a joyful person and greatly loved her family at St. Paul Hermitage. Those left to cherish Helen’s memory include her siblings, Larry D. (wife: Mary) Avery of Andalusia, AL, Patsey (husband: Barry) Darden of Trussville, AL, Rita (husband: Edwin) Tomes of Indianapolis, IN and Michael (wife: Ruth) Avery of Cincinnati, OH and several nieces and nephews.
