James Elbert Mitchell

James Elbert Mitchell, age 70, of Centreville, Alabama passed away at home on Sunday, November 15, 2020. James was born July 31, 1950 to Dexter Mitchell and Livvie Waldon Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Hattie Mitchell of Centreville; sons, James Smith(Kelly) of Brent and Perry McKenzie(Ashley) of Heiberger; sisters, Oneda Wilkerson of Uniontown; Georgia Magouirk(Raymond) of Centreville and Joyce White of Selma; step grands, Haleigh Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Lexi McKenzie, Asher McKenzie and Kaitlyn Jones; three nieces, four nephews and a host of great nieces and great nephews.

A visitation for James will be held Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, Oakley Ave, Centreville, Alabama. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM. Graveside service will be at 1:15 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama.

So sorry to hear of the passing of James.
He led the Pledge of Allegiance at the Class of 68 Class Reunion with such eloquence.
Such a fine Classmate and will be missed.

Rest in peace Mr. Mitchell AKA Tool Box. Mr. Mitchell did 43 years of OTR Trucking. Your job has been done you hold the crown .. You fought a good fight no more pain and no more suffering it's over with. I appreciate everything you taught me and i thank you for being a great friend to me. I will always remember you and I will always be a good truck dr,iver and I will pass it on to other drivers and do the same thing as you done for me in the loving memory of you. From your friend.
