James Mordecai White

The Honorable James Mordecai (Jim) White, 81, of Brent, Alabama, passed away at his home on July 31, 2018. Judge White served 27 years as the Alabama District Judge in Bibb County, and distinguished himself in service to the legal profession in many ways including as a member of the Judicial Inquiry Commission and as Past President of the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Alabama Bar Association. He had many friends and was known for his wit, good humor, and kind concern for the children and families of Bibb County. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Katherine Claire Moseley (Kay), by his sons James Mordecai (Jay) White, Jr. (Donna) and Beauregard Moseley (Beau) White, his daughter Katherine Claire White Foley (Col. David C. Foley) and his grandsons Samuel Moseley White, Franklin Price Foley, James Mordecai White III, Robert Harper Foley, and Alexander Gates Foley. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles Mordecai and Grace James White. His family are proud of his legacy and are honored to have loved him. We will all miss him and will hold blessed memories of his good advice and of his love for us. Visitation will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 4, at the Brent Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 11AM. Burial will be in the Brent Cemetery.
