

Jean Marie Beasley Caldwell, age 79 of Centreville, AL passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024. Her Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Brent Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Born in Columbus, Ohio on May 25, 1944, she attended Central High School then began her early career working in the Pentagon as Information Specialist with Battelle(1959-1964). She worked as the Station Manager at WBIB Radio from(1977-1980). She then finished out her career at the Tombigbee Girl Scout Council as Fund Development Manager(1980-2005).
Jean was passionate about developing girls as leaders as a Girl Scout Troop leader and in many roles with the Tombigbee Girl Scouts. She had a servants heart at every church she attended. Jean was always found working with children and various church committees. Sewing was always part of Jean's life. From making clothes for her daughter, masks for the deaf community, and to her final love of quilting.
The most important passion of all were her children, her grandchildren, and her adopted kids and grandchildren who she cherished with all her heart.
Jean is survived by her son, Greg Caldwell (Tracy); daughter, Valerie Caldwell Jones; four grandchildren, Luke Caldwell, Lydia Caldwell, Kade Jones, and Brodie Jones; sister, CarolAnne Beasley; brothers, Larry Beasley, Earl Raymond Beasley, John Beasley, Mike Beasley, and Jerry Beasley, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony Caldwell; sisters, Doralee Wendel, Janet Fuller, and Debbie Winck; and brother, Jimmy Beasley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to her beloved grandson, Luke Caldwell who is a missionary with Christian Mission Fellowship. Luke will be serving with the Globalscope team for two more years in Birmingham, England. give.cmfi.org/donate/luke-caldwell
