December 12, 1954 - October 22, 2020
In this world, there are people who look around and see only negativity and disdain. There are others who look around and see through rose colored glasses. They see the dirty as shiny, rough as well-polished, and ugly as beautiful. They themselves are shiny, well-polished & beautiful.
Jewell Jackson was that person who wore those rose colored glasses. She refused to see anything as bad, especially family. She never wanted there to be division. If you were having strife with someone, it didn't matter. You are going to be in the same room whether you talked or not.
We were blessed to have had Jewell Jackson in our life and her rose colored glasses. Our mom, sister, daughter, aunt and nana passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020. Jewell fell ill quickly and in a matter of days, she passed away on her own time, not wanting assistance from anyone.
Jewell did that. She had to grow up fast and it made her who she was. She worked hard for all she had. She never wanted anyone to go out of their way for her or ask anyone for anything. She opened her home to anyone in need. At any given time, there seemed like a thousand people were in a small, beautiful, mauve decorated three bedroom/two bathroom home. She was a generous giver not a taker.
She hardly ever found a purse she didn't love. She never found a hair, body or make-up product she didn't try. She had bejeweled rings for miles. She kept As Seen On TV and The Pioneer Woman in business.
She made the best spaghetti, chicken and dumplings, chicken and dressing, sausage gravy and banana pudding. Gordon Ramsey definitely had nothing on her.
She had a hug that could make you melt and feel like no other, the sweetest and most calming voice, eyes that could light up the darkest of nights and laughs you could hear for days. She was a beautiful soul. An absolute Jewell. The loss is great.
Her life will be honored and celebrated at Rockco Funeral Home in Centreville, AL. Monday, November 2, 2020 at 3:00p.m.
