Joe was born on November 2, 1944 to the late Percy and Helen Tillery. He served in the United States Navy from 1965 until 1969. During his spare time, he enjoyed watching Auburn sports, camping, and trotlining.
He is survived by his children, Terry Tillery and Tina Parks; grandchildren, Alexa Wood (Cody), Chase Tillery (Robert), Justin Tillery (Karsyn), Joleigh Parks, and Rylee Parks; great-grandchildren, Skyler Cosby, Abby Wood, Kaylin Wood, Madelyn Wood, and Beckett Jinright; niece, Linda Thrasher; and nephew, Jeff Fulmer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Tillery.
A visitation for Joe will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lowerytown Baptist Church, 49 Lowerytown Road, West Blocton, AL followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM. His final resting place will be at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 123 Mt Carmel Dr, West Blocton, Alabama.
Serving as pallbearers are Brian Lemley, Bubba Fulmer, Trey Hickman, Charles Farnetti, Kevin Deerman, and Justin George. Honorary pallbearers are Cody Wood, Robert Bates, Justin Tillery, Duanne Deerman, Bobby Deerman and Mark Reach.
