John E. Carter entered into rest on August 7, 2020 surrounded by his family at home. He was born to George and Ola Mae Carter March 7, 1943. John was a member of Open Door Faith Baptist Church. He loved farming, fishing, talking to his family and friends and his grandchildren. The most important event of his life was when he married the love of his life, Jane . He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jane Carter of 60 years; two sons, Kenneth Carter(Brenda) of Marion, AL, Rickey Carter of Marion, AL; one daughter, Susan Dailey(AL) of Marion, AL; one brother, Jimmy Carter(Betty Jean) of Greensboro, AL; two sisters, Jeanette Crocker(Bert) of Marion, AL, Louise Reach of Clanton, AL; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ola Mae Carter, six brothers, George Carter Jr., Frank Carter, Clarence Moore, Robert Moore, Lawrance Carter, David Carter and one sister Elouise Moore.
Visitation will be held Tuesday August 11, 2020 at Sardis Baptist Church in Heiburger, AL from 9AM-10AM with the service starting at 10AM. Rev. Gervis Smith officiating.
