July 3, 1953 – June 30, 2026
Johnny Wayne McCullough, age 72, of Brookwood, Alabama, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 30, 2026.
Johnny was born and raised in Heiberger, Alabama, where he developed the values of faith, love, and family that would define his life. He was a gifted carpenter who took great love in his craft.
Johnny loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing and hunting, but nothing brought him more happiness than sitting with a guitar in his hands, singing gospel music with the people he loved. Family gatherings were made happier with family music sessions.
Above all else, Johnny loved God. His relationship with the Lord was the foundation of who he was, and his love for his family flowed from that faith. He was a loving father, son, brother, and grandfather.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Earline McCullough and Robert Wilton McCullough; his brother, Ronnie Dale McCullough; and his wife, Linda Gale McCullough.
He leaves behind his daughters, Tracy McCullough Schwentner (Brian), Brandy Jones (Roy), and Jennifer McCullough; his brother, Robert McCullough (Phyllis); his sister, Lisa McCullough Meyer (Bruce); his grandchildren, Canaan Mathis, Nicholas Mathis, Logan Schwentner, Cody Brasher, Mallory Stewart, and Abigayle McKenny; Girlfriend, Mary Beebe
His daughter, Tracy, shares these heartfelt words:
"I love you, Daddy. This isn't goodbye, it's until I see you again."
His brother and sister, Robert and Lisa, offer this loving farewell:
"Go rest high on that mountain, Brother. Enjoy peace and no pain."
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Johnny's faith has become sight. We can imagine him standing in the presence of his Savior, guitar in hand, singing the gospel songs he loved so dearly. While he will be profoundly missed, his love, laughter, music, and steadfast faith will continue to echo through the lives of all who knew him.
