Mrs. Hicks was my PE teacher at BCJHS, She was so sweet and kind to me. I often saw her when she would come by the bank. We would talk and laugh and she would always say encouraging things. I loved Mrs. Hicks, she was special to me. RIP

Kay Hicks what can I say

She was My Mother, My Sister, My Friend, My Neighbor all rolled into one wonderful person. She sent me very informative emails every morning, telling me of her plans for the day, talked almost every day on the phone. I have so many awesome memories of Kay. Her picking me up before daybreak going to her brother Bob’s garden to pick peas, shelling peas until midnight in my den laughing and talking. Making jelly together. She also tried to teach me how to make her famous yeast rolls (that didn’t take). She would call and say I need you to ride with me to Sonya’s, it was a joy. Go with me up to Rusty and Alesa’s, yes of course. Always so proud of Myra and her accomplishments. Loved Myra’s morning phone calls. We shared many talks about her grandchildren and mine. Both of us very proud. She also loved my husband Wayne, especially enjoyed eating his Boston Butts. He loved her as well. I will miss her so much but so happy she is in Heaven rejoicing with Jesus. We will meet again one day.

I love you Kay Hicks. Thank you Lord for placing her in my Life.

Aunt Kay was one of my favorites. When she lived in Tuscaloosa and I was young she would often drive me to various places I needed to be. I will always remember her quick smile, wit, and her sense of humor. I remember us being downtown Tuscaloosa in afternoon traffic and she had to sneeze.
She laughed and said, "Goodness, Mike. Have you ever tried to sneeze and keep your eyes open!?!" She will never know how much I appreciated her. I failed to tell her. I hope to tell her one day. RIP, Aunt Kay.
