Lizzie Jewel Hembree

Lizzie "Mizzie" House Hembree age 78 of Montgomery and Elrod AL passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. Lizzie was born on August 30, 1943 in West Blocton, AL to Carver and Jennie House. She was a member of the 1961 Class of Bibb County High School. She was an avid bowler and softball player and she competed in two Senior Olympics in each sport. She is survived by her four children, Lowell House, Beth House (Joe) , Wahoo House (Susan) and Tammy Mann (Jerry); three stepdaughters, Debra Cumbie (Terry), Cindy Davis and Kathy Shirley (Chuck); eleven grandchildren, Kayla Mosley (Josh), Houston Poole (Christina), Andrew Ward (Sara Grace), Lauren Cumbie (Chase), K.C. House, JoAnna Poole, Van Driver, Madisyn House, Hayes Mann, Brittani Mann and Catlyn Plott; two great-grandchildren, Walker Ward and Zettie Jo Poole; six sisters, Katie Hubbard, Linda Jones (Wayne), Reba Johnston (Warren), Roberta Lawrence (Jack), Mary House and Lois Cooley (Larry); two brothers, J.C. House and R.f. House (Sharon) and along with a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Travis House; two brothers, Charles and Floyd House and one sister, Lucille Colburn and close friend, Marie Johnson. War Eagle Mom!

Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 1PM - 2PM at Centreville Baptist Church with the service starting at 2PM. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bubba Lambert presiding.
