Louise Lovelady

Louise Goodwin Lovelady, 101, of Bessemer, AL passed away on September 23, 2025. Some of her fondest memories are living in Lawley, AL before moving to Tuscaloosa and then to Bessemer in 2006 to be near family.

Louise was a long-time member of Rehobeth Baptist Church in Lawley, AL. Where she served as a Sunday School teacher and found great joy in helping with VBS. Her late husband served as a Gideon, for many years, where she served on Auxiliary.

She enjoyed Alabama Football, traveling and playing cards with her friends well into her latter days.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents; siblings; “Special Daughter” Dorothy McGee and her beloved husband Norvin Lovelady. Left to cherish her memory are “Special Daughter” Judy Hayes (Wayne) and those that lovingly called her MawMaw Lou; Jennifer Hayes Merritt (Bobby) and Julie Hayes Hill (David) and their families; nephews Morris Posey (Cindy) and Jake Posey (Jasmine) and their family; very special friends Nell Latham and Ginny Griffice, along with many other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Rehobeth Baptist Church in Lawley, AL.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawley, AL.
