I was so saddened to hear about Millie's passing. I can still see her beautiful smile. Millie and I met in 1971 in Gainesville, FL where she worked at Maas Brothers and I taught at Sante Fe Community College. We wound up living together for two years, and she was also a bridesmaid in my wedding--so very long ago. We had quite a few "adventures" as young women--but always a lot of fun.

Once we had a spaghetti dinner at our apartment and invited a bunch of girlfriends. Neither one of us knew too much about cooking, and we placed a ceramic pot full of spaghetti sauce right on top of the burner to let it cook for hours. When we were ready to cook the spaghetti, the pot cracked in several places and the sauce was all over the stove and floor!!!!!!! What a mess!!

My deepest sympathy to Gwin and the rest of Millie's family. Millie will always remain a young and delightful young woman in my memory.

I worked with Millie at Compass Bank. She was always ready to help with a smile and a story to share. She helped so many of us over the years and she will be missed.

Once a year all the ladies in our family would get together for a weekend and go on a retreat. We would eat, laugh, and make some kind of a craft. Millie would always make her famous chili. I also remember at Christmas her gifts would be wrapped so beautiful. She will be greatly missed.

I will always remember and cherish the memory of Aunt Millie standing in my place as the bride at my wedding rehearsal. She was happy to help me out! I have many memories, but that is my favorite.

Millie has always been such a kind and compassionate person. She always shared her love of books with the children in the family at Christmas. Millie loved animals and enjoyed traveling abroad. She cooked the best chili and shared her chili recipe with her family. She gave me many porcelain dolls that hang on my formal Christmas tree every year at Christmas. Millie will be greatly missed by many. If you had the opportunity to meet Millie you also know how kind and compassionate she was to others.
