

Joe Morris Crawford, JR, age 81, went to be with his Father in Heaven on Sunday, June 15, 2025 in West Blocton, Alabama.
A visitation will be held for Morris on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 11:00-1:00 at Schultz Creek Baptist Church in West Blocton, Alabama. A funeral service will be held following at 1:00. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Roasco Kornegay is officiating.
Morris Crawford was born on April 30, 1944 in Bessemer, Alabama. He was preceded in the death by his beloved parents, Joe & Marguerite Crawford and his in-laws, Readus & Lenora Morrison.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and the love his life, wife of 60 years, Janet Morrison Crawford, his daughter Marcie Boothe, Son-in-Law Kyle Boothe, Son JJ Crawford and his grandsons Gauge, Brody, Mason and Kaleb Boothe.
Morris graduated from Bessemer High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from Samford University in 1967 with a BS in Pharmacy. He practiced pharmacy for 50 years with 25 years with CVS Pharmacy in Centreville, Alabama where he was known as “Mr. Morris”. He loved practicing pharmacy and always referred to it as a calling from God, not a job.
After graduating from Samford in 1967 he joined the 117th Air National Guard in Birmingham where he served as Pharmacist and medic for 6 years.
Morris loved God and had a beautiful voice. He will be remembered for his many gospel solos, and his time in quartets. He was ordained as a Deacon of Woodstock Baptist Church in 1992 and later served at Schultz Creek Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Gary Blake, Kyle Boothe, Gauge Boothe, Brody Boothe, Mason Boothe and Kaleb Boothe.
