Opal Foster Jones

Opal Foster Jones, age 101, a lifelong resident of Centreville, Alabama passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and read through her Bible over 50 times. She spent her life dedicated to her family and was no stranger to hard times or hard work. She could out pick any of her boys in the cotton field. Her family was well fed and everybody loved Ms. Opal's fried pies and dressing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Jones; her children, Glen Jones, Cynthia Dobbs and Sandy Jones; grandson, Charlie Wolfe; granddaughter, Brandi Fancher; parents, Walter and Altha Foster; and all of her siblings. She is survived by her children, Dalton Jones, Rickey Jones (Melinda), Casey Jones, Dennis Jones, Sharon Jones Ross (Mike), and Pam Jones Buckalew; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Jones; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren with two more on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who loved their Aunt Opal.

A visitation for Ms. Opal will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Highway 219 S, Centreville, Alabama, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Bro. Tom Conroy will be officiating.

Ms. Opal will be laid to rest in Harris Cemetery, Hwy 219, Centreville, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Alex Jones, Damion Jones, Sean Buckalew, Mike Ross, Frank Mitchell, Sebastian Wolfe and Hunter Wolfe.
