Richard Dennis Myers Sr., age 81, of West Blocton, Alabama passed away on Tuesday February 5, 2019. Richard was born January 14, 1938 in Keene, NH.

A visitation for Richard will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, Centreville, AL. A graveside service will occur Monday, February 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, West Blocton, AL. with Rev. J. D. Mosley and Rev. Lee Forsythe officiating.

Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Myers, a son, Richard (Rick) Myers, Jr. of West Blocton, a daughter, Cindy Myers, of West Blocton, brother, Dennis Andrew Myers of Keene, N.H., two sisters, Judy (Wilbur) Sprague, Keene, N.H. and Wilma (Edward) McCarthy of Mass. His three grandchildren; Charlie, Kim, and Justin Myers, four great-grandchildren, Adri Hulskotter, Ariel Myers, Malaki Myers and Saylor Myers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence and Anna Myers two brothers; Phillip Myers Sr. and Harold Myers and one sister; Joyce Louise Myers.

He was the greatest, to us ! 💔 He was the leader,the rock,the one we could all lean on,the one who could fix anything or knew who could,a man of honor and integrity but always humble and down to earth. He spoke with equal respect to all. He was such a big part of our lives,I don't know how we will get along without him.We are so lost and brokenhearted without our Papaw(Dad).Our Mother so brokenhearted ,losing her soulmate,her love,her husband of 60+ years. We will move forward with faith and prayers but it will be hard. 💔

My papa was a very kind hearted man, respectful & loving ~ always helped people ~ one of mine favorite memories was when I was a kid &~me & my grandparents was in Gatlinburg , Tn ~ me n papa was at the pool and he was teaching me how to swim , under water & above water ~ he taught me how to tie my shoes also ~ had helped me with my homework when I was in elementary school ~ and also when I was a kid , I would sit beside him in his chair & watch tv with him ~ I’m gonna miss him so much ~ I love you papa & I’ll see you again
