Born on August 4, 1956, in Talladega, Alabama, to Robert Earl “Bobby” Gaither, Sr. and Kathleen Gaither, Robert lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was a proud and loving father to his three children, Jim Gaither (Alison), Zach Gaither (Ashley), and Rebekah Gaither. Nothing brought him more joy than his role as “PawPaw” to Landon, Georgia, Clayton, Caroline, Collyns, and Jacob. His grandchildren were truly the light of his life.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of many years, Diane Lovelady Gaither. Their marriage was one built on love, and faith—a partnership that continues to live on through the family they created.
After Diane’s passing, Robert was blessed to find companionship again. Dean Carver entered his life and cared for him with incredible tenderness and devotion during his later years—a gift his family will always hold dear.
Robert's life was deeply rooted in faith, family, and friendship. He shared a close bond with his siblings—Marsha, Kenneth, and Rodney—who, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family, will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Many in the community will fondly remember Robert from his days at The Muffler Shop. He had a gift for working on cars and an even greater gift for making friends. His kind spirit, warm smile, and infectious laugh left a lasting impression on everyone who walked through the shop doors.
Though our hearts are heavy in his absence, we find peace in knowing Robert is now healed and whole, reunited with loved ones who went before him. His gentle presence, steadfast love, and joyful laugh will live on in all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service for Robert will be held at Brent Cemetery in Brent, AL on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
