

Adlai “Coach Al” John Sires Jr. passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Passages Hospice, with his loving daughter by his side, at the age of 72. Adlai was a native of New Orleans and resided most of his adult life in Chalmette, Louisiana. Adlai is preceded in death by his parents, Adlai John Sires Sr., Mary Lavene Rawls D’Angelo (Lucien C. D’Angelo Sr.) and his brother, Henry John Sires Sr.
Adlai is survived by his children Shelly Sires Landry (Keith Michael Landry), Jeffrey “Jay” Sires, his grandchildren, Kolbe Michael Landry and Emrie Grace Landry, his siblings Marlene Crifasi (the late Jake Crifasi Sr.), Lucien C. D’Angelo Jr., Anna Maria D’Angelo (Joey Jeanfreau III), sister-in-law Brenda Sires Perniciaro, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Adlai was a retired member of The Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #60. He had a passion for coaching, all the kids, including his son, at Versailles ballpark throughout the years. He also was passionate about LSU, the Saints, playing baseball, and karaoke. He was a talented singer, and his karaoke performances were enjoyed often by family, friends, and acquaintances. His absence from this world will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 PM
