

Alice Boesch Arostegui passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. She was 89 years old. She was the cherished wife of the late Norman Arostegui for 39 years; loving mother of Cheryl Elliers (the late Brian Elliers), Kathy Kornick (Sid Kornick), Lynn Schayot (Lenny Schayot), Anita Bush (Willie Bush), and the late Kenny Arostegui; devoted grandmother of Stephanie Bosch, Melanie Lane, Jay Arostegui, Matthew Arostegui, Scott Kornick, Gretchen Kenning, Jason Schayot, Eric Schayot, Brett Schayot, Ryan Cavalier, Dana Ortolano, Elizabeth Bush, Jill Walton, and Leah Walton; sister of Margaret Savoy and Edward L. Boesch, Jr.; and sister-in-law of Bessie Theobold. She also leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
A native of New Orleans, Alice grew up in the Ninth Ward area of the city. After relocating to St. Bernard Parish, she became a long-time resident of Chalmette, where she raised her family with her husband, Norman. Following Hurricane Katrina, she settled in Slidell and was currently a resident of Oak Park Village at Slidell, where staff and residents alike loved her dearly. Alice loved to socialize and was a member of many clubs and organizations including the Welcome Wagon Club, the Suburban Women’s Club, Fun for All, St. Luke’s Ladies Club, and the Petroleum Club. She was a vivacious woman who loved her family and friends with all her heart. She will be fondly remembered, and forever missed, by those she leaves behind.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, February 11, 2022, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held in her memory at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
