Almeda L. Lagarde was called home to rest on Saturday, March 7, 2015 surrounded by her family at the age of 87. Beloved mother of Anthony “A.J.” Sartalamacchia (Mary), Jerry Sartalamacchia (Theresa) and Claudia S. Carson (James). Preceded in death by her mother Claudia Estopinal Lagarde and father Paul J. Lagarde Sr., brother Paul J. Lagarde Jr. and sister Alice Lagarde Fisher. She is survived by loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Almeda spent most of her life in St. Bernard raising her family until Hurricane Katrina when she moved to Hammond. The family would like to thank Louisiana Home Health Care and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion and caregivers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 P.M. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
