Angelo Raymond Rholdon passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of the late Marylin Gaudet Rholdon. Loving father of Richard Rholdon (Patricia) and Michael Rholdon (Mary). Son of the late Angelo and Alvina Blancher Rholdon. Proud grandfather of Kellie Rholdon, Christopher Rholdon (Amanda), Corey Rholdon and Cale Gammon (Chelsea). Great grandfather of Lily, Emerson and Quinn. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Angelo was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Metairie, LA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Following his military service, Angelo enjoyed a long career driving for Gordon Transport and after his retirement, enjoyed many years as a funeral assistant at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home.
He found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. He will always be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends, his laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. He was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, January 18th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a prayer service in Angelo’s memory beginning at 11:00AM. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Marylin in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
