Annearl Schouest Garcia

Anne Schouest Garcia entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 94. She was a lifelong resident of Saint Bernard Parish until Katrina. She was proceeded in death by her husband Joseph Garcia and son Wayne Garcia. She was born on October 30, 1930, to the late Abraham Julian Schouest and Blanche Guidry Schouest. She is survived by her sister Doris Smith and brother Abraham (Abe) Schouest. She was proceeded in death by her siblings Joseph Robert Schouest, Cecile Becker and Elizabeth LeBlanc. She is loved and will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She enjoyed making sweets to share and took the time to teach family members how to make her famous pecan tarts and Italian cookies. She loved Mardi Gras and enjoyed the fun times getting together with family and friends and participating in balls and parades. The last few years she had the opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones at Greenbriar Community Care in Slidell, La. and enjoy the many activities offered and appreciate the wonderful care she received. The family is grateful for the support and excellent care given by Notre Dame Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 9:00 AM.
