Anthony Harold Touchard

Anthony Harold Touchard passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the age of 83. His final days were spent surrounded by his family and friends, sharing stories about his very memorable life. He was the beloved husband of Myriam Aviles Touchard. Loving father of Kim Touchard Dixon (David), Lisa Touchard White (Greg), Sheri Touchard Theriot and Brynn Elizabeth Touchard. Step-father of Louis Medina. Son of the late Paul V. Touchard, Sr. and Marguerite Howell Touchard. Brother of the late Paul Touchard Jr. Proud grandfather of Kelsi Dixon Davis (Glenn), Dayna Dixon Cuevas (Dameon), Blake L. Theriot, Baylie R. Theriot, Jessica A. Brisbin (Chris), Trey E. Brisbin and Marguerite M. Touchard and the late Dawson Anthony Theriot. Great grandfather of Emriee K. Cuevas. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many cousins, relatives and dear friends.

Anthony was born in New Orleans, LA and spent many years as a resident of St. Bernard Parish before eventually making his home in Metairie, LA. For 24 years, he was the proud owner and operator of Chalmette Marine Supply, a business that reflected his hard work, dedication and love for his community. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, and shrimping, and he was a skilled carpenter who took pride in working with his hands. He also looked forward to the excitement and traditions of Mardi Gras and treasured the peace he found at the beach.

Above all, Anthony was a devoted family man. His family meant the world to him and he especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride. His pride in his grandchildren could be seen in his eyes, felt in the warmth of his hugs, and heard in the way he spoke their names. His love was never something that needed to be loudly expressed - it was simply there in all that he did. He never needed the world’s attention to make a difference. His greatest impact was found in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved him. He was a husband who loved deeply, a devoted father who guided with quiet strength, and a grandfather who gave his whole heart. Above all, he was a man whose presence brought warmth, joy, and meaning to the lives around him.

Rest in peace, dear Anthony. Your absence will be deeply felt, but the love you gave will remain with us forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, October 2nd from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in Anthony’s memory beginning at 11:00AM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery No. 3 in New Orleans.
