August J. Serpas Sr.

August J. Serpas Sr. passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the age of 91. He was the cherished husband of the late Angelina Nicosia Serpas for over 70 years. Loving father of Mary Ann Faul (Mack), August J. Serpas, Jr. (Patricia) and Don Serpas (Connie). Son of the late August Bernard and Marie Rattel Serpas. After his parents passed away when he was very young August was adopted by his devoted aunt and uncle the late Joseph A. and Philomene Serpas Rhodes. Brother of the late Marie Louise Serpas Allo. Proud grandfather of Gannon Faul (Jamie), Grant Faul (Kasey) and Christina Serpas. Great grandfather of Peyton, Kaleb, Kendall, Cohen and Culynn Faul. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

August was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a US Army Veteran and proudly served his country in World War II.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.
