Barry Amos Labourdette Jr.

Barry Amos Labourdette Jr. passed away in a tragic accident on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the age of 52. He was the beloved son of Maryann Labourdette and Barry Labourdette Sr. (Betty). Husband of 17 years to Eleanor Labourdette. Devoted father of Lea Labourdette. Step-father of Macy Sullivan and Tori Sullivan. Proud grandfather of Austin P. Carr Jr. and Ka’mari Menville. Godfather of Ritchie Reed Jr., Rodney Reed and Gia Misuraca. Brother of Shelley Reed (Ritchie Sr.). Step-brother of Dana Farmer (Kenny), Sherry Dolese and Brad Dolese (Kellie). Son-in-law of Brenda & Carol Cheramie. Brother-in-law of Sheri Cheramie and the late Julie Tregle. Barry is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Amos & Anna Labourdette and Victor & Josie Misuraca; and his step-brother Brock Dolese.

Barry was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA where he enjoyed a long and satisfying career with Cembell Industries. He truly enjoyed life through his simple pleasures of fishing and playing fantasy football with his friends. He found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for those around him. We will remember his smile, his warmth, his love for life, family and friends, but also his deep love for animals and the special love and companionship they provide us. Barry will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, March 16th from 10:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a celebration of Barry’s life beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
