Bernice Delcambre Delcambre Marchand

Bernice Delcambre Marchand passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the age of 80. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her life. She was the loving mother of Walter L. Marchand Jr. (the late Toni Jo), Wanda Lynn Marchand, Robin M. Nelsen (Robert), Todd Mitchell Marchand (Tina) and Greg Joel Marchand (Kristina). Daughter of the late Henry and Lena Galle Delcambre. Sister of Mildred Butscher, Henry Delcambre Jr., Rhetta Nettles, Linda Mattingly and her late twin sister, Bertha Buras. Proud grandmother of Ross Marchand, Nicholas Marchand, Justin Moniz, Travis Moniz, Erica Gulina, Lauren Nelsen, Isabella Nelsen, Kassidy Marchand, TJ Marchand, Hunter Marchand, Kathryn Marchand and Joel Marchand. Great grandmother of Elijah Gulina, and two new family members are on the way. Bernice is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was well loved, and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. She will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal mother, grandmother, sister and a friend or many, who treasured her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00AM – 12:30PM. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
