Bradley "Nuck" Hernandez Sr.

Bradley "Nuck" J. Hernandez Sr., 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to his family, his country, and his community. Born on June 24, 1948, in New Orleans, LA, Bradley "Nuck" was a proud graduate of St. Bernard High School. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States military during the Vietnam War. His courageous service was recognized with numerous military honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart, Sharpshooter Badge (M-60), and Expert Rifle Badge. His bravery, sacrifice, and commitment to his fellow soldiers were a source of great pride throughout his life.

Following his military service, Nuck built a successful career as an electrical lineman. He worked for Louisiana Power & Light, Highline Electric and Red Simpson\Pike. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others, earning respect from coworkers and friends alike.

For 31 wonderful years, he shared a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Jessica. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, and family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, his four children, eight grandchildren, and the many family members and friends who filled his life with laughter and cherished memories. When he wasn't working or spending time with loved ones, Nuck enjoyed fishing, golfing, and shrimping. Whether casting a line, enjoying a round of golf, or spending time on the water, he found peace in the outdoors and happiness in sharing those moments with family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Jessica S. Hernandez; his four children, Roxanne H. Buras (Robert Jr.), Erica H. Morales (Edward), Bradley J. Hernandez Jr. (Hailey) and Tiffanee N. Planchard (Robert); his cherished grandchildren, Payton A. Adams, Rikki A. Adams, Macie M. Morales, Caylie M. Morales, Bradley "Tripp" J. Hernandez III, Carter Ann Hernandez, Leighton M. Hernandez and Ryder J. Planchard "whose lives brought him endless pride and joy"; along with other loving family members and many dear friends. Nuck was preceded in death by his parents, Mae Robino Hernandez and Douglas R. Hernandez Sr.; his brother, Douglas R. Hernandez Jr.

Bradley "Nuck" will be remembered for his courage, unwavering love for his family, generous heart, and quiet strength. His life was one of honor, sacrifice, and devotion, and his memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
