With hearts heavy we announce the passing of Brian Arthur Perez, Sr., who passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on January 27, 1962, from Violet, Louisiana, Brian’s life was a quiet masterpiece full of creativity, family, and a love that ran deep. Brian was the devoted father of Ericka Bryann Perez Scott (Tony) and Brian Arthur Perez, Jr. (Kaylie). To his children, he wasn’t just Daddy, he was home. His pride in them could be seen in his eyes, felt in his hugs, and heard in the way he spoke their names. His love was the kind that never needed big words to be known. He was a proud pawpaw to his grandchildren, Mia, Laci, Seth, Liam, Avery, Paris, Kinsley, Alaya, and Lola, and bonus grandchildren Tony Jr. and Trey. He was their Pawpaw. And to him, they were everything. His face lit up when they were near, his heart swelled with every “I love you,” every giggle, every small hand in his. Brian was the beloved son of Geraldine Couture Perez and the late Manuel Marie Perez, Jr. He was a loving brother to Cathy Goutierrez (Tony), Lorraine Perez (John), and Gregory Perez, Sr. (Trudy), and he is now reunited with his sister Claudia Casanova in eternal peace.
Brian carried a rare and beautiful gift, a natural artist’s soul. With his hands, he could breathe life into what others overlooked. Where someone saw “junk,” Brian saw a blank canvas. He had the power to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. His handmade treasures weren’t just creations; they were extensions of his heart. Every piece told a story. Every detail held love. In his healthier years, Brian found comfort in life’s simple pleasures. Whether working on the boat in the yard or on the water, he moved at his own pace, content in the quiet moments. He didn’t need the world to see him to make a difference, his impact lived in the hearts of those who knew him. No matter how old he grew, Brian was always his mama’s boy. That bond was tender, steady, and deeply rooted, a reflection of the love that shaped him. To his family, he was more than any title could define. He was a son who loved deeply, a brother who stood strong, a father who guided with quiet love, a Pawpaw who gave his whole heart, and a man whose presence made life a little richer.
Brian’s legacy lives on not just in the things he hand crafted, but in the love he left behind. It’s in the laughter of his eleven grandchildren, the strength of his two children, and the stories that will be told for years to come. Though his earthly journey has ended, the beauty of his life will be remembered through generations. He will be missed beyond measure, loved beyond words, and remembered in every heart he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE ST., Chalmette, LA on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM.
