Carol Sylvera Lanclos, 75, a native and lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018, in her home while surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph C. Lanclos, Sr.; son Joseph C. Lanclos, Jr.; two daughters, Chris Tarver and son-in-law Floyd, Bobbie Babin and son-in law, Jason; her 4 loving grandchildren; Kayla, Floyd (F.J.), Seth and Chloe; one great-grandchild, Isaiah. She was also survived by 2 brothers; Marc and Craig Sylvera; along with her niece and caregiver, Roxanne Pichon. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Carmen Sylvera; brothers, Joseph L. and Tommy Sylvera; sisters, Gay Maxwell and Betty Nunez.
Carol found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. She enjoyed a long career with the St. Bernard Parish School Board and retired as a cafeteria manager. In her final years, she enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Council on Aging. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, November 8th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in Carol’s memory beginning at 11:00AM. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
