Cecile Elaine Jenevein
November 29, 1953 – July 27, 2022
Cecile Elaine (Hebert) Jenevein, age 68, of St. Bernard Parish, LA, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, of natural causes. Cecile is survived by her loving and caring friends and students she taught over her lengthy 40-year career as an educator. But most importantly, Cecile is best remembered for the love and caring attitude she shared with all of her friends and students and a passion for the art of teaching. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and her dogs, Frappuccino and Latte. Cecile was fun loving and laughed easily as evidenced by her membership in the Dixie Darling Red Hatters. Her many talents included cross stitching and baking her infamous chocolate chip cookies. Cecile was devoted to surfing the internet for educational material for her classes and sharing conversations and information with many. She was compassionate and had a very generous heart. Cecile held a Bachelor of Science Degree from Nichols State University and a Master of Education from UNO. She taught Biology and Physical Science at St. Bernard High School and, following Hurricane Katrina, at Chalmette High School, where she sponsored the Beta Club and Co-sponsored Cheerleaders. She also taught at Houma Junior High School and Catholic Junior High School, Pointe Coupee, before accepting a position with the St. Bernard Parish School System. She was a proud graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and was looking forward to celebrating her 50th Class Reunion. Cecile is loved by so many and shall be forever missed by all those who knew her, all those whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the St. Bernard Animal Shelter, 5455 E Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 as their work was near and dear to Cecile’s heart. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.See more See Less
