Charles W. Culotta passed away peacefully, at home and surrounded by family, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Grob Culotta. Loving Father of Rodi Culotta (Beth), Rodney Culotta and Randall Culotta (Lisa). Son of the late Joseph and Mary Del Buono Culotta. Brother of Mary Daigrepont, Vincent Culotta and the late Anna Taranto, Catherine Duncan, Phillip Culotta, Agatha Kennedy and Sally Villar. Proud grandfather of Stefan, Aron, Corbin and Logan Culotta. Great grandfather of Luca and Livia Culotta. He also survived by numerous nieces,nephews,grandnieces and grandnephews. Charles was a native of Chalmette, LA and a lifetime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. Following his service in the Navy, he was a Pharmacist who owned and operated Economy Pharmacy, where he worked side by side for many years with Fred Luter, who Charles considered as his own son. Charles was kind, thoughtful and well loved by his friends and family. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his best friend Bill Kelly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, April 10th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest with his wife in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
