

Charles Wayne Eagerton Sr., 82, of St. Bernard, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with blood cancer. Born on August 24, 1943, in Mobile, Alabama, Charles was the beloved son of the late Lether Landry and Daniel Eagerton, and stepson of the late Leon Landry. A proud Air Force aviator, Charles bravely served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a salesman and raised a loving family. Charles was blessed with six children: Lisa Hall (John), Charles Eagerton Jr. (Melissa), Kyle Eagerton (Kelly), Christina Eagerton, Christopher Eagerton, and Jonathan Eagerton (Tori). His legacy continues through his ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Charles cherished the outdoors, often spending time fishing and camping with his children–memories that will be treasured forever. He was an active member of the American Legion and Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, giving back to his community throughout his life.
Charles will be laid to rest with military honors at Southeastern Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana, following a graveside service prepared by St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
