

Charles Anthony Rareshide, age 81, of St. Bernard Parish, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Charles lived a full life rooted in family, friends, and deep local ties.
He was the beloved husband of Deborah Alphonso Rareshide, with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Charles Anthony Rareshide, Jr. He was the cherished son of the late Gertrude Barras and the loving brother of the late “Alice Mae” Froeba (Thomas). He also shared a special lifelong bond with his twin brother, the late Carl A. Rareshide (Carolyn).
In addition to his immediate family, Charles leaves behind many nieces and nephews, to whom he provided love, guidance, and support throughout his life.
Charles will be remembered for his strength, dedication to his family, and the quiet love he showed those closest to him. His presence, guidance, and steady spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Southern Grace Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort, and dignity they provided during his final days.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with Mass to follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd Violet, LA 70092.
