Chester Charles Romero

Chester Charles Romero passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the age of 75 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of the late Manuel Romero, a native of La Coruna, Spain and the late Selvina LaMarque Romero of St. Bernard Parish. He is survived and fondly remembered by his brother Earl M Romero (Lora); his nephew Nick Romero (Angela) and their children Julia and Daniel; his niece Ramona Breaux (Randy) and their children Rachel and Ben; all of Broussard, LA. Chester was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish where he was a graduate of St Bernard high school. He attended college at SLI (the current University of Louisiana at Lafayette), proudly served his country in the National Guard and enjoyed a 50-year career with the Shell Oil Company. Chester's family will have fond memories of the stories he told of his childhood and life experiences, his confidence, generosity, and his strong willed nature. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CEMETERY, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA on Saturday, June 6th beginning at 10:30AM. He will be laid to rest with his parents.
