Loving mother of Troy (Heidi) Bennett Jr. and Amy Elizabeth Bennett Blanchard. Daughter of the late Peter Weir Jr. and Beverly Darder Weir. Sister of Peter Weir III, Philip Weir, Paul Weir, David Weir, Danny Weir and Carol Greene. Proud grandmother of Colby & Ava Blanchard and Mason & Isabella Bennett. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Cynthia was born in New Orleans, LA, was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, before settling in Picayune, MS following Hurricane Katrina. Before beginning her career with the Federal Government’s National Finance Center, Cindy worked as an LPN and spent many years caring for others alongside Drs. Vocke and Ellis in Chalmette.
Cindy found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life and had a remarkable way of making those around her feel cared for and loved. She enjoyed shopping, playing the slots at the casino, and sharing countless games of poker-keno with her lifelong friends. She was also a wonderful cook, best known for her delicious seafood gumbo, which brought family and friends together around her table.
Above all else, Cindy treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They were a tremendous source of love, pride, and happiness in her life. The love she had for them could be seen in her eyes, felt in her warm hugs and heard in the way she lovingly spoke their names. She never needed grand words to express how much she cared - her love was shown in the countless little ways she was there for the people she cherished.
Cindy was a beautiful example of kindness, generosity and unconditional love. Her caring spirit touched the lives of so many and the memories she created with those she loved will be treasured forever.
Rest in peace, dear Cindy. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by us all.
