Danny was born in New Orleans and was a brief resident of Fairhaven Children's Home in Covington, LA. He spent many years as a resident of St. Bernard Parish before making his home in Luling, LA. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver with Saia Fright for 37 years, a profession that suited his love for the open road and all things automotive. From a young age, Danny was captivated by cars - whether it was the roar of a drag race or the simple joy of turning a wrench, he found excitement in the world of motorsports. Beyond his passion for engines and speed, Danny also enjoyed spending time on the water. He loved boating with family and friends and found a quiet peace while fishing and crabbing. Perhaps nothing brought him more joy, though, than gathering with loved ones for his crawfish boils where everyone was invited. These occasions that were filled with laughter and stories meant so much to him.
Danny had a deep appreciation for the simple, meaningful moments of everyday life. He was fiercely loyal, endlessly caring, and had a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew him. His laughter, his kindness, and the example he set in how to love and care for others will remain in our hearts forever. Though we will miss him so dearly, he will be remembered with a smile.
A very special thank you to his nurses, especially Peggy with Hospice Compassus and Brittany Candies with Ochsner for all the care and sincere compassion when it was needed most.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, June 16th from 10:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a service in Danny’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
