It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darnell Estopinal Corne, a beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, step-grandmother, daughter, and sister, at the age of 65. Darnell passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her husband, David Corne Sr.; her son, David Corne II (Kristina); her stepdaughter, Christy Lee (Shaun); her grandchildren, Emily, Hayden and Brayden; her step-grandchildren, Morgan and Hailey; her parents, Lionel Estopinal & Theresa Randazzo Estopinal; her brother, Darryle Estopinal (Rose) and many other family members and friends.
Darnell was married to the love of her life, David Corne Sr., for 42 wonderful years. Their marriage was a testament to love, devotion, and companionship. She will always be remembered for the deep love and care she shared with her husband, who cherished her dearly. A loving mother and stepmother, Darnell was a guiding light for her children and stepchildren, always offering support, love, and wisdom. As a grandmother and step-grandmother, she found immense joy in the laughter and warmth of her grandchildren, always eager to create cherished memories with them. She had a special bond with her beloved dog, Tia, and found great comfort and companionship in her furry friend. One of Darnell’s greatest joys was gathering her family together for Sunday get-togethers, where love, laughter, and delicious meals were shared. These moments meant the world to her and were a testament to her deep appreciation for family and tradition. In addition to her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Darnell was a caring daughter and sister, always ready to lend an ear and a helping hand. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion that will continue to inspire her loved ones. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
All those whose lives Darnell has touched are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM.
