David Funel

David Louis Funel passed peacefully at the age of 64, with his family at his side, on January 2, 2021. David leaves behind a daughter, Shasi Funel (Jeff); his mother, Joyce Morales Funel; his brother, Gary Funel (Yvette); granddaughters, Analyla Dunnam (Kody) and Sarah Ronsonette; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Anthony; a nephew, Cory (Tori) and a niece, Rachel Funel. David was preceded in death by his father, the late Louis C. Funel Jr.; his grandparents, the late Lucille "Teal" Morales and Marco "Mike" Morales; the late Rosalie Smith Cummins; and the late Estelle and Louis C. Funel, Sr. David was employed by Union Texas Gas and retired from Murphy Refinery. He was a former resident of St. Bernard and a current resident of Picayune, Mississippi. David enjoyed his family, friends, and gang of St. Bernard Tulane Green Wave fans. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, on Tuesday, January 12, 2020, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held in his memory at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, in lower St. Bernard.
