Born with a love for life and a heart for people, he was a proud graduate of Bay High School in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Papa went on to dedicate many years of hard work and service to the CSX Railroad, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. Outside of work, he was happiest enjoying the great outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and all things related to being a true “gator man.” Papa had a knack for collecting just about anything and was well known as a junk collector and scrapman. If there was something to be found, something to be fixed, or something that might come in handy one day, chances were he would find a use for it! These simple joys were a big part of who he was and made him unforgettable to those who knew him.
One of Papa’s greatest gifts was his ability to make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger. Whether sharing a story, lending a helping hand, or simply striking up a conversation, he had a way of making people feel welcome. Papa’s outgoing personality, warm heart, and one-of-a-kind spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Above all else, Papa’s wife and family were his pride and joy. They were the center of his world and the greatest blessing of his life. He cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and the love he had for his family was evident in the life he lived and the memories he created. His family was his greatest treasure, and nothing meant more to him than the people he loved.
Papa will be deeply missed by all who loved him, but his memory will live on in every fishing story shared, every hunting tale retold, every unexpected treasure found, and every gathering of the family he loved so dearly. His life was full of hard work, adventure, laughter, and love. Papa’s greatest legacy will always be the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Rest peacefully. You will forever be loved, forever be remembered, and forever be a part of us.
