

Dennis Yves Reichert, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on October 24, 2025, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, Louisiana. He was born on July 13, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, where he owned and operated a well-known hair salon in Chalmette. After Hurricane Katrina, he relocated to Mandeville, Louisiana and then moved to Springfield, Louisiana in 2015 where he resided at the time of his death. Dennis was known for his warm personality, his sense of humor, and his gift for making everyone around him feel special. He found joy in the simple things: time with loved ones, various hobbies including woodworking and making leather goods, traveling, good conversation, and the laughter of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Choina Reichert (2009); his parents, Charles J. Reichert, Jr. (2012) and Therese “Sue” Reichert (2000); and his sister, Janet “Jani” Reichert (1982). He is survived by his loving life partner, Lanelle Arceneaux; his sons, Dennis (“Denny”) Yves Reichert, Jr. (Alana), Dustin Michael Reichert (Kelley), and Darren Paul Reichert (Allie); his bonus children, Aimee Arceneaux Bennett (Clay), Bridget Arceneaux Logan (Robert), and Lonnie Arceneaux (Alyssa); and his brothers, Allan Charles Reichert (Kathy) and Kenneth Michael Reichert (Lynn). Dennis was the proud “Papa” of Cole Michael Reichert, Reese Mae Reichert, Rhett Alan Reichert, Carter Cate Reichert, Caroline Kirkpatrick, Claire Kirkpatrick, Ava Torres, Sadie Torres, Liam Logan, Azalea Arceneaux, and Amelia Arceneaux who brought endless joy and light to his life.
Dennis will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering love for his family, and his enduring spirit that will live on through all who knew him. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association in his memory.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM-1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.
