Dessie “Doris” Bateman White passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 79. She was the cherished wife of the late Lee Hackwell White. Loving mother of Debra Miller (the late Glenn), William White Sr. (Jane), Rebecca DeMoll (Darryl), Theodore White (Crystal, the late Sharon) and the late Theodora White and John White (Stephanie). Daughter of the late Theodore Bateman and Willie Bays Bateman. Sister of the late Ernestine, Delores, Melba, Beverly, Etsel, Jerry and Robert. Proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dessie will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens
