Diane Marie Genovese Clements passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the age of 79. She was the cherished wife of the late Edmund “Clem” Clements. Loving mother of Lucy Kahrs (Henry), Debra Beaumont (John), John Clements (Emily) and Bret Clements (Angela). Daughter of the late John Genovese and Rita Lepayrouse. Sister of Coyann Biggs, Nance Hymel, Cathy McCorkle and Ruby Hasney. Proud grandmother of Corie Beadle (Doug), Leanne Gorboch (Blake), Ryan Beaumont (Corinne), Henry Kahrs III (Samantha), Bret Clements, Edmund Clements and Maria Labruzzo. Great grandmother of Ashley Moore, Michael Moore, Leah Sander, Lilly Sander, Harper Kahrs, Carter Beaumont, Addie Beaumont, Luke Labruzzo, Knox Beaumont and the late Haley Moore. Diane is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Diane, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born in New Orleans, LA, and spent many memorable years as a resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Destrehan, LA. She was a woman of simple joys and deep love, finding beauty in the simplicity of every day life.
Diane had a remarkable way of making those around her feel loved and cared for. She delighted in life’s little pleasures - from her favorite games of Pokerceno and slot machines at the casino, to her legendary Bingo skills that earned her the affectionate title of “professional Bingo shark.” Her warm smile was always on display, especially when she was around babies, whom she adored whether they were her own grandchildren or simply a bundle of joy passing by.
She was a true New Orleanian girl at heart and had a well-known passion for hot sausage sandwiches and Popeye’s chicken - though even those favorite indulgences were second only to her lifelong love of Elvis Presley. Later in life, during her time at Ormond Skilled Nursing, Diane continued to bring her joy to those around her. The staff there affectionately called her “Ms. Busybody” - a nickname given with love, recognizing her lively curiosity.
Above all, Diane will be remembered for her unwavering loyalty and devotion to her family. She was the heart of her home - nurturing, playful, loving, and always ready to spoil her grandchildren. Her caring spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met, and her memory will live on in the lives she shaped.
Diane’s laughter, kindness, and deep affection for those around her will be missed beyond measure. She was a shining example of what it means to live fully and love deeply.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, October 4th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in Diane’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest with her beloved Clem in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
