

Dolores Brignac DiCarlo entered into eternal rest on July 7, 2022 at the age of 81. She was born on May 12, 1941. Beloved wife of the late Jiachino “Jake” DiCarlo and the late McAllen “Brick” Brignac, Jr. by second marriage. Preceded in death by her parents Adolph E. Gex and Helen Deffes Gex, sister Leatrice G. Rodrigues (Clyde) and Adolph E. Gex Jr. (Billie). Devoted Mother of Vincent E. DiCarlo (Amy) and Perry J. DiCarlo (Donna). Grandmother of Dominique DiCarlo Crouch (Kyle), Christian J. DiCarlo, Jiachino L. DiCarlo and Jared V. DiCarlo and her first great grandchild Baby Crouch. Sister-in-law to Josephine D. Schell and the late (Albert) and Beverly Gex. She was a native of Arabi, LA and a 1959 graduate of Annunciation High School. She was a lifelong resident of Braithwaite, LA until Hurricane Isaac and had been living in LaPlace since 2012.
Dolores retired from Amax Nickel in Braithwaite and TECO Refining in Davant.
Dolores was a member of the Braithwaite Social Club, Ascension of Our Lord Alter Society and Ascension of Our Lord Silver Crusaders. She was also a former parishioner of Assumption of Our Lady Mission in Braithwaite. She loved baking cookies, preserving jellies and talking with her friends and family. Dolores spent plenty of her time cooking and baking goods for neighbors and family.
The family would like to thank Fr. Walter Austin, Debbie Roussel, Gayle Bernard, Renee Rodrigue and the Ocshner Heart team for their patience and care given to her during these stressful times.
Visitation will be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 with visitation from 9:00am-11:30am with a Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA beginning at 12noon.
